Mint.com has inspired me to look for places in my life to cut costs, which got me thinking about where my money actually goes. I thought that rent would be my biggest expense, but it turns out that I pay more in taxes than I spend on my own lifestyle (food, shelter, entertainment, even scheduled student loan repayments). I didn’t expect that, and can understand why so many people with my resume become libertarians.
