brown sugar= 1 cup white sugar + 2 Tablespoons molasses
I had just cut up the bananas and was ready to start fostering them up, when I noticed that we were out of brown sugar. Christian had a hunch that it could be done, and the internet taught us how.

While there may be some cost savings associated with this, I think that it’s a big deal because you never have to worry about petrified brown sugar, which seems to happen after a few weeks. It might also be liberating to have control over the amount of “brown” flavor, instead of just going with what the man has decided.
