We wandered around the Upper East Side a bit this afternoon, and saw a lot of tree pits carpeted with evergreen branches. I found a Christmas tree on the sidewalk for collection and used it to spiff up the tree pit out front.

Even more eco-friendly, I just pour the water straight out of the top of the bottle, and don’t have to buy another piece of plastic. This does have the disadvantage of spilling water all over the place 83.5% of the time, however (sorry, CR).

Hmmm… Combining soda/water bottles and a non-recyclable (in NYC) plastic attachment. Not two of my favorite things. How about a metal watering can? One that’s recyclable and won’t put olefins in your plants?
